Hilo, Hawaii – the Arc of Hilo was the most recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ program. Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community, and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Ohana Fuels stations in that community. The total donation to Arc of Hilo was $7,752.67 from gasoline sales during the 2nd quarter at all Ohana Fuels locations on the island of Hawaii, and proceeds from carwashes held at Ohana Fuels stations during the quarter.
The Arc of Hilo has been working to improve the quality of life for people with developmental and other disabilities who reside on Hawai`i through educational, vocational, and skills training as well as employment and residential opportunities for 62 years. The Arc currently serves over 100 low income, disabled adults and teens, through job creation, employment placement, and quality of life enhancement. “This generous donation will go to expanding our programs, assisting our client/workers in the field with advanced technology and train individuals in new micro-business opportunities in our Job Creation & Training Center.
