Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii benefits from Ohana Fuels’ $9,182.11 donation

Hilo, Hawaii – On October 25, 2016, the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii became the most recent beneficiary of Ohana Fuels’ ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ program. Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serving the needs of local communities by donnating a portion of every gallon of gasoline and diesel purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in that community. Sales for the 3rd quarter resulted in a donation in the amount of $9,182.11 to the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii.

The Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii is a private non-profit 501c3 corporation dedicated to aiding the East Hawaii Children’s Justice Center in it’s mission to assist abused and neglected children. The Center provides a safe place where abused children can be interviewed by an interdisciplinary team of professionals.

The Arc of Hilo benefits from Ohana Fuels $7,752.67 donation

Hilo, Hawaii – the Arc of Hilo was the most recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ program. Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community, and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Ohana Fuels stations in that community. The total donation to Arc of Hilo was $7,752.67 from gasoline sales during the 2nd quarter at all Ohana Fuels locations on the island of Hawaii, and proceeds from carwashes held at Ohana Fuels stations during the quarter.

The Arc of Hilo has been working to improve the quality of life for people with developmental and other disabilities who reside on Hawai`i through educational, vocational, and skills training as well as employment and residential opportunities for 62 years. The Arc currently serves over 100 low income, disabled adults and teens, through job creation, employment placement, and quality of life enhancement.  “This generous donation will go to expanding our programs, assisting our client/workers in the field with advanced technology and train individuals in new micro-business opportunities in our Job Creation & Training Center. We are very grateful to Ohana Fuels for selecting our organization” stated Ms. Debbie Perkins, CEO.

Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island receives $7,559.31 donation from Ohana Fuels.

Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council benefits from Ohana Fuels $7,302.96 donation

Hilo, Hawaii  – HCEOC was the most recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels “Fuel up. Do good.” Community Giving Program. Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community, and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Ohana Fuels stations in that community. The total donation to HCEOC was $7,302.96 from gasoline sales during the 4th quarter at all Ohana Fuels locations and proceeds from the carwashes held during the quarter.

HCEOC is a private non-profit 501©3 corporation started in 1965 in conjunction with Congress and President Lyndon B. Johnson’s war on poverty. As a Community Action Agency it has a tri-partite board of directors made up of government, community and low income board members and is dedicated to alleviating poverty on the Big Island.

HCEOC provides transportation to Nutrition sites for seniors, cooks meals for the Meals on Wheels program for East Hawaii, works with the DOE on at risk students, and annually takes applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

The Board and Staff of HCEOC are grateful for the generosity of HFN in helping the vulnerable in our community, especially the seniors, disabled and disadvantaged. Jay Kimura said these funds go a long way in making the Big Island a better place to live for ALL our citizens.
