Maui – Nā Hoaloha was the most recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ program. Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community and donates a portion of the proceeds from every gallon of gasoline purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in that community. Second quarter sales resulted in a donation to Na Hoaloha in the amount of $6,836.38.
Nā Hoaloha (Loving Friends) is a grassroots organization whose mission is to provide compassionate care to seniors and persons with disabilities to help them remain independent and to enhance their quality of life. “Kupuna in rural areas are challenged in accessing resources and have a greater risk of isolation. The contributions received from the ‘Fuel Up. Do Good.’ community giving program from Ohana Fuels, and the car wash revenue, will go far in supporting Nā Hoaloha’s rural development and outreach program,” said Judy Guajardo, Volunteer Coordinator for Nā Hoaloha. “Falls Risk Assessments, Telephone Reassurance and Early Detection for Dementia are a few of the services that can make a big difference in helping a senior live longer and healthier. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Ohana Fuels in such a meaningful way.”
Kimo Haynes, President of Hawaii Petroleum said, “At Ohana Fuels we are happy to give back to the community through our ‘Fuel Up. Do Good.’ program.” He added, ”These organizations provide exceptional, and much needed, services that help local residents and neighborhoods. We pledge our continued support through our sponsorship programs.”
