Kailua Kona, Hawaii February 3, 2020  –  Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island is thrilled to be the fourth quarter 2019 beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels ‘Fuel Up. Do Good.’ Program.  Ohana Fuels partners with non-profit organizations serving the needs of the local community and donates a portion of the proceeds from every gallon of gasoline purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in that community.  Through this partnership, Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island received a donation in the amount of $5,656.83!

Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles seeking to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope, believing that having an affordable home builds strength, stability, and self-reliance for our island families.  Executive Director Patrick Hurney stated, “We want to thank Ohana Fuels and our Hawaii Island community for supporting us. With these funds, we will be able to continue our mission to build affordable homes for hard working families in need on Hawaii Island.”

Kailua-Kona, HI — Through the kind support of Ohana Fuels, and its ‘Fuel Up. Do Good.’ fundraising program, Hospice of Kona welcomed a generous donation $5,560.91 to be used towards hospice and family support services.  Every quarter Ohana Fuels partners with a community nonprofit organization, and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in that community.  Hospice of Kona’s donation was raised at all 11 Ohana Fuels stations on Hawaii Island between July and September 2019, including through car washes at the Ohana Fuels/ Minit Stop station at Hulikoa Drive and Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway in Kailua-Kona.

Hospice of Kona provides family-centered support, education and care for those approaching the end of life.  The organization is recognized as the best resource to support and advocate for the terminally ill and their caregivers and to educate professionals, volunteers and the general public about hospice care and palliative care.

Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community, and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Ohana Fuels stations in that community. The total donation to Hawaii Island Adult Care, Inc. was $7,600.65 from gasoline sales during the 2^nd quarter at all Ohana Fuels locations and proceeds from carwashes held during the quarter.

Serving East Hawaii for 43 years, Hawaii Island Adult Care provides high-quality day care for elderly and challenged adults and support for their families in order to ensure continued living at home – aging in place.   Executive Director Marcie Saquing notes, “it is through partnerships and support from local businesses such as Ohana Fuels, that we are able to continue to serve our kupuna and challenged adults in our community.  We are deeply grateful for their generosity.”  These funds will be used for tuition assistance for those in need.

P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc., (Providing Awareness, Referrals, Education, Nurturing, Therapy & Support) is a 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving Hawaii’s families since 1975.  As a local organization, PARENTS, Inc. has helped strengthen thousands of families by teaching parents positive parenting skills and techniques in order to prevent child abuse and neglect within our island homes.  Our mission is to strengthen families by providing a full range of prevention, education, and treatment services for men, women, and children.  All preventative, education, and treatment services are multi-ethnic, non-judgmental, non-threatening, supportive, and easily accessible.  Over 4,000 parents and their children benefit from our services annually.
