HCEOC Benefits from Ohana Fuels’ “Fuel up. Do good.” Program

HCEOC was selected as a “Fuel up. Do good.” beneficiary for the months of July through September 2022. During this time, a portion of proceeds from every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Hawaii Island Ohana Fuels stations was pledged to HCEOC. 

HCEOC received a total donation of $6,457.33, which was presented on Nov. 14 by Senior Accounts Manager Joy Madriaga at HCEOC in Hilo.

This donation will enhance HCEOC’s programs providing essential services to low-income families and individuals in Hawaii County through transportation, meal preparation and delivery, rent and utility assistance, weatherization and energy efficiency resources, and WiFi connection.

“Our mission at HCEOC is to prevent, alleviate, and eliminate poverty in our county,” said Executive Director Chad Hasegawa. “This donation will be allocated among our programs, boosting our resources so we may better serve our community from multiple angles. Mahalo to Ohana Fuels for sharing our vision of giving to our community.”

Hospice of Kona Foundation and Ohana Fuels team up to Raise Funds in Support of Hospice of Kona’s Programs and Services

Hospice of Kona Foundation was the recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels ‘Fuel Up. Do Good.’ program for 2022 Quarter 2. Through this community program Ohana Fuels donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline to local nonprofit organizations. Hospice of Kona received a portion of all gas sales during the quarter, as well as benefited from car washes hosted at Minit Stop locations, resulting in a donation of $6,378.32. This donation will support Hospice of Kona’s programs and services including Nakamaru Hale, the Maluihi Grief Center, and Camp Erin Hawaii.

“We are excited to announce we will be partnering with Hospice of Kona Foundation as our next ‘Fuel up. Do good.’ beneficiary,” said Kimo Haynes, President of Hawaii Petroleum. “We value the exceptional work Hospice of Kona Foundation does to help our local Ohana. We look forward to offering continued support in the community through our ‘Fuel up. Do good.’ program.”

Big Island: Arc Of Hilo Benefits from Ohana Fuels’ “Fuel up. Do good.” Program

Hilo, Hawai’i – The Arc of Hilo was the most recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels “Fuel Up. Do Good.” Community Giving Program.  Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at Ohana Fuels stations in that community.  The total donation to Arc of Hilo was $6,549.90 from gasoline sales during the 1st quarter at all Ohana Fuels locations and proceeds from car washes held during the quarter.

 

The Arc of Hilo enriches the lives of youth and adults with disabilities through employment and youth transition services, community living supports, and low income housing. 

 

“The generous support of Ohana Fuels will help the Arc of Hilo fulfill its mission, especially with our new youth program Career Exploration, which helps youth with special needs in high school successfully transition to community employment by age 18 alongside their non-disabled peers,” said Robert Efford, CEO of the Arc of Hilo.

Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island Benefits from ‘Ohana Fuels Donation

During the fourth quarter of 2021 ‘Ohana Fuels “Fuel Up. Do Good.” program, $6,281.27 was raised for Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island. Each time that customers filled up gas at any of the Big Island ‘Ohana Fuels locations, a portion of the proceeds was donated to BGCBI.

“Ohana Fuels has been an outstanding supporter of our youth development programs throughout Hawai’i Island. The funding received will be dedicated to support our West Hawaii youth, providing them with daily academic support and nutritional supplementation,” said BGCBI Chief Executive Officer Chad Cabral.

The “Fuel Up. Do Good.” provides a donation to the participating nonprofit organization based on the number of gallons sold at all ‘Ohana Fuels on the island for that quarter. The program started in 2012 and one nonprofit is chosen each quarter. BGCBI was the first nonprofit recipient chosen when the program began.

‘Ohana Fuels donation to BGCBI will be used towards:● Program supplies● Power Hour (Academic Tutoring & Homework Support)● Cultural Enrichment● Wahi Pana● Healthy snacks● Sports & Outdoor Equipment”BGCBI has been a recipient of this program three times and we are grateful for their donations. ‘Ohana Fuels donations have been beneficial to BGCBI’s programs and youth services.
